Meet the Trainer
Leanna Rizzo is a Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer working out of Long Beach, CA. She has been working with dogs professionally since 2014 and began training in 2020, and founded Trail Dog Training Co in 2021. She gained her Advanced Dog Trainer certification through Zoom Room in 2024 and AKC™ Evaluator status in 2025.
Leanna has 2 rescue dogs of her own, a Chihuahua named Barbas and a Pitsky named Dova; as well as a cat and a lizard. Leanna has a strong passion for helping reactive pups learn to manage their big feelings, and is currently pursuing her CPDT-KA certification and further education in Dog Sports.
About the Business
Trail Dog Training Co was in 2021. by Leanna Rizzo to help fill the gap in Positive Reinforcement training in SoCal, with the goal of eventually opening a full service Fear Free dog care facility. Since moving back to LA county Trail Dog has expanded towards that goal by now offering Board and Train programs as well as training hikes.
Trail Dog Training Co is a Woman-Owned micro-small business currently operating in Lakewood and surrounding areas. Trail Dog is committed to providing science based, humane, and effective care to dogs as well creating a safe and welcoming space for their humans. We are proud to be apart of the Safe Spaces Alliance as well as the Shock-Free Coalition.
